Five ways to improve cath lab activation accuracy
Errors in STEMI recognition can often lead to incorrect activation of the Cath lab. Tim provides a practical, systematic approach intended to help maximize the number of STEMI you correctly identify and reduce false positives. Tim Phalen is one of the leading educators in 12-lead interpretation.

At this webinar, Tim will help you look for ways to increase correct STEMI activation while reducing inappropriate activations.

Learning objectives:
1. Understand the model for integrating ECG findings, patient presentation and device’s statement into decision-making for STEMI activation of the Cath lab.
2. Learn to employ strategies to rule out LVH, BBB, Ventricular rhythms, early repolarization pattern and pericarditis as probable causes of ST elevation.
3. Learn 3 strategies to suspect STEMI in the presence of a STEMI impostor (Non-ischamic cause of ST elevation).
4. Recognize ECG findings suggestive of possible isolated posterior STEMI
5. Define a STEMI equivalent and describe the significance
6. Utilize serial ECGs and/or ST monitoring to increase correct STEMI identification
7. Obtain additional ECG leads V7, V8 and V9 and apply ECG criteria for posterior STEMI
